In today’s market of home sales there is a vast contrast between residential home sales from the year 2000 to the ending fiscal year of 2015.
According to Winnipeg Realtor Statistics, in the year 2000 there were 16,019 listings and only 9,946 have sold which leaves a total of 6,073 properties that have NOT sold. In contrast of 15 years later we had 24,619 residential listings with upwards of 13,000 sold properties and 11,619 NOT selling! Yes, demographics change and population increase so it would be reasonable to say that you would have more houses on the market within 15 years. But at the same time more houses mean more competition and possibly more days on the market.
What does this mean for you in 2017? Well it is simple, you have a 35% increase in residential properties from 2000 to 2015, and if your property was listed during these time frames but didn’t sell then maybe your home was not ready to be shown.
